on a Quad Opteron 846, 8GB RAM, 15K RPM SCSI disks. Update: As of March 08, we will be using Octa Dual-Core Opteron servers (i.e. 16 cores), with
32GB RAM. For the virtualization software, or actually OS partitioning software, we use Parallels Virtuozzo Containers.

For single account hosting, we use linux and cPanel. If you already have your own website, you are likely to have used cPanel.
It gives you good control through a web page over your hosting account. You can setup email and ftp accounts easily. Even mysql
databases can be setup with a few clicks. For applications like phpBB, SMF, coppermine? No problem, Fantastico is provided,
and it installs the above apps for you easily.

but with minimum fuss. No need to setup your own server, no need to administer your own server. Just get a reseller account, and you
are good to go.
Our resellers have the ability to host multiple sites limited only by their disk and bandwidth quotas. As a reseller you create your own
packages and prices. WebHost Manager (WHM) allows you to but is not limited to administering individual accounts, reseller accounts

cPanel and WHM (Web Host Manager) takes the chore out of setting up apache, mysql, php, exim. Compiling may be lots of fun at first,
but it gets tedious if you need to do it over and over. cPanel allows installation of Apache, mysql, php etc through a few clicks.
For the sysadmins out there who wants to compile everything from source yourself, sad to say, you are out of luck; cPanel automates
pretty much everything except for the installation of the OS. Your users can setup email and ftp accounts, even edit dns zones.
All you are left with is usually upgrading cPanel now and then, and keeping track of kernel updates, and watching for vulnerable scripts,
and spammers. cPanel gets the boring stuff out of the way, and leaves you the fun stuff, what more to ask for?
